Devrant has become so boring. It used to be actual devs who shared their annoyments as well as joyful moments in their professional life.

Now it's one of two things, a) jokes/gems/utter nonsense, or b) students complaining about their classes/teachers/parents.

I always keep my algo at newest. Of the rants around this one, only a few are of the annoying kind, the others are all pretty good and dev-related. So I call bullshit.

We have a lot more content posted in general now, but most of it is completely on topic. There’s definitely more bad ones now, because that’s just the nature of what happens when you have a much higher volume of stuff being posted.

I highly, highly recommend if you don’t like sifting through bad content and it upsets you (like OP), then you shouldn’t use recent. Recent is supposed to have bad content. This is a community with user-generated content and we let people vote on it.

If you want awesome stories, and no “jokes,” just use the stories feature... Or use “top” for significantly higher quality content.
