I think I might get close to a burnout. Last week was extremely stressful because of a deadline and I worked 45 hours in 4 days. Even in the evening my heart is pounding like a coke addict who had his last nose 1 hour ago.

What is your personal way of dealing with (work related) stress?
What activities help you best to cool down and relax?

I've not yet tried meditation but am trying to take some time to regularly do sport after the work, hopefully it helps.

Been there, done that. What helped me was keeping realistic hours, and not trying to reach some low estimates somebody else might have made. Start and stop work at regular times. Of course some overtime might accumulate, but then take a day (or even a half day) off to get it balanced again.

Don't do too much overtime. Just work your hours and go home.
Always keep in mind, that your health is more important than some shitty deadline!

Going climbing, hanging out with friends (and have a few beers), get a car and my girl a tent and drive down somewhere to the Vallis or the Welschland, visiting Schaffhausen to take a swim in the Rhein...

Tai Chi helps me out a lot. Highly recommended.

I such cases when I cannot but stay overtime, I just take a break every two hours, for five minutes.

After I finish work I go for a walk in quiet streets where no traffic jam is there, go back home and sleep.

Repeat until the pressure is gone, unless this your case everyday and it doesn't end. In my case it happens to me a week every few months
