I fucking hate holidays. Every goddamn time when it's a holiday, that's when I need to go to the store and get something, only to find out that they're closed. And what for.. holidays are - to me at least - no more than an excuse for people to not go to work for the day.

So, now I ran out of booze, and can't continue developing and testing my breathalyzer until Monday.

Then it hit me.. what if I take all my Arduino equipment (laptop, jumper wires, ...) to the café and deploy my build environment on a table there?

Eh, no no no. I don't want some idiot to come up to me saying "YOU EVIL HEKORMAN!!!" and have to explain that just like when you call a banker who's working with the money vaults a thief, it's wrong to call someone that's developing shit an evil hacker.. one should strive to not throw mindless accusations out of unknowingness. Not that I'm a good example of that though. But still.

It's probably that or some stupid bitch coming up to me asking to hack her boyfriend's Phasebuk.. that said, that could probably be an opportunity to get in her pants. But then, I don't wanna insert my meat in an idiot like that... ._.

So, no booze it is then? Thanks national holidays!

"Ok Google, remind me every day before a holiday because I really couldn't care less about them!!"

@norman70688 I've been thinking of that as well.. but isn't that a bit unusual? I don't want to come over as a weirdo to the bartender :/

    @norman70688 hah, good point :P

If the biggest weirdo the barman has seen all week is a guy buying a bottle of beer that must be one seriously dull bar.

But, just take the kit down there. Seems like that would be fun.

Ey. My country. Its a crime for a bottle store to ever be closed 😅😅😅

@platypus As long as it doesn't get me in trouble for using the dark turminel wiz colorful hak commands, I'm all up for it.. actually I'm quite curious about how the general public would react to someone coding in a public place that isn't a hackerspace. Perhaps I'll bring my equipment and just ask the bartender what they'd prefer :)

I think most people would be curious and interested. Or just ignore it. If you sit at the bar, I'm sure someone will ask.

I've coded in a bar before...I've done most things in a bar at some point... People just ask me if I'm building the Internet and such. But they seem interested. Most have never seen code or a terminal.

Soldering iron and glue gun might be going a little too far...

@norman70688 I have done this several times. But not all bars will help you. And sometimes you are not allowed to take it outside.

at the railway station or airport?
  • 4
@heyheni hm? Just a local bar in town... I wouldn't even dare to open a terminal at the airport, lol! I've heard that customs chaps tend to go crazy when they see a dark turminel :')

I like holidays. Then the streets are empty so I don't have to see anyone when I go outside for a walk.

I should build a portable embedded systems dev kit for cafe's. It would be cool.
