Howdy my binary friends and those who identify as an attack helicopter or an Amiga 500, I was away from devRant for about 2 weeks or 4 because I had to order a new touchscreen (who cares anyway).
Have I missed something on devRant?

Let me just freshen up my dictionary with Alex's rants, be right back.

    You might experience some difficulty with that ...

    Apart from that - good to have you back.

    @nin0x03 Holy fuck, wtf happened? 😢
    When I wrote this rant, I didn't know he purged his profile...

    Some people left, more people continued on ranting, @Floydian destroyed his laptop's display, I happened to be busy with desoldering, cleaning and resoldering a stupid power supply (really tedious, I tell ya).. what else?

    Welcome back 🙂

    @PonySlaystation Actually, some other devRanters (@Alice, @NoMad ...) left due to various reasons - I was also away for some time so I didn't quite catch the reasons why.

    As far as I can say Alex experienced frustration in general which lead combined with them leaving and disagreeing with some rules of the site to purging his account in the process of getting rid of other social media accounts.

    @CoffeeNcode @Condor
    Thanks for the update!
    I will really miss Alex & Alice...
    Too bad that human interaction sooner or later leads to drama... Time for a "format e:"... (e = earth) 😅

    Edit: Oh no... @NoMad too? 😢
    Time to keep their legacy up!

    @CoffeeNcode Let's build a digital Ark-e-Nova 😉
    (Similar to the German "Arche Noah")

    Welcome back fellow attack helicopter ranter.

    @CoffeeNcode I have no idea what happened that made my favorite ranters disappear, can you give me some information on that ?

    Welcome back dude.

    @xzvf I didn't read the discussions, but I hope you learned from it and get more mature.
    On the internet it's easy to defend one's opinion to death and forget the consequences. I think a lot of people who like heated discussions on the internet would never do that in real life this casual in front of the opponent...

    Can someone give me tl;dr 'bout drama thing? I didn't heard anything 'bout it.

    I like @RantSomeWhere advice to put that topic to rest.

    If you miss them, they are still on internet. Remember that Alice has a website? Alex has GitHub or Website if I'm not wrong. Or ask some mutual ranter friends who are closed with them like linuxxx.

    Feel free to reach out and keep in touch.

    For NoMad, I too missed the drama, as I was out of the country and didn't have wifi, but as far as I got it in the adtermath, it was because there's a "no politics" rules, which she apperantly broke, dissagreement, and boom she said fuck it. As far as I understood it, this was one of the influences leading to alex saying fuck it too... (But as I said, only what I've gattered from rants so far...)

    @RantSomeWhere I'm not even aware what are we putting to rest, you might be justly sick of the curiousity on the case which I wholly sympathize with because poking old wounds and discussions is a rarerly wise idea. But the reason for such a chaotic outcome on devrant, I can't help but be curious about. Like all internet communities toxicitiy will slowly take its toll on devrant too in the forms of more memes and trolls. But the sudden mass abondonment of devrant I would say wasn't because of such a gradual change. That is the reason for my - most likely - immature curiousity

    @RantSomeWhere And nobody has the obligation to guard the details of such events, if you don't want to talk about it you don't have to. You were the one that jumped into the comment section after the question was already asked. You might be sick of such questions I get that and thats fine like I said before, but I wasn't asking you about the ordeal in the first place. Is it really sensible to come out from nowhere just to shame the question ? If people want to talk about it do you really have the right to rob them of the information they are willingly sharing ? I get that it might be a sensitive topic for you I really do but trying to control what people are talking about, I don't think thats right. In all your three comments you were just trying to shut down the topic even though you weren't the OP or the one that initiated the subject. Dictating what's right and whats wrong or believing that you know what the people that was involved would want is kinda silly

    @RantSomeWhere @Marnsghol
    I, acting in the role of OP, hereby declare this discussion closed. 😉
  • 3
    @PonySlaystation that should be a good feature now that I think about it. The OP has the permission to close the comments section of own rant. 🤔
  • 2
    @PonySlaystation Oh then I shall abide by OP's judgement

    Welcome back! I've been gone off and on while I moved and got settled. Came back and suddenly everyone I was used to seeing rant was gone.
