Some young kid taking his first steps into compsci was being straight-up fucking harassed on SO. No one answered, instead users with really high rep just said shit like "if you tried to hang yourself with that code it'd come apart but you should check anyway" in the comments. I flagged the comments and got fucking banned from the entire Stack Exchange network. I created a new account to help the kid, posted an answer, and was banned and had my answer removed within 5 minutes.

SE can burn in hell.

It can be a real cesspool at times. I used to be a very active contributor over at JP.SE when it was in beta, but ragequit after about 3 months because I was sick of people labeling me "dangerous to the community" or "leading people astray" because my answers didn't exactly parrot their pet reference or personal experience.

I still look things up on there, and will occasionally post a question as a last resort, but I long ago lost any interest in being an active participant on it.

They're a bunch of basement dwelling pieces of shit.

I'd rather read the entire fucking documentation of a language than I would ask a question on that shithole site.

@calmyourtities I don't think I need to be causing this kid any more grief by pointing more people towards him, only to be banned and have him be blamed

@Parzi no i won't do anything bad, nor will any other devRanters, i just have trouble believing you

@calmyourtities Again, if they're punishing people for trying to alleviate or show support for this kid, i'm not gonna let you guys put yourselves on the banning block.

I guess this is their idea of a more "friendly community" BS they announced recently.

@Parzi Link or it didn't happen.

Why does this kid not show it to its parents and/or file a lawsuit?
If these kinds of users don't get removed/banned by the platform, then a letter from the authorities will help.

If the question reeks of homework, it would be best to ban the OP immediately - and also anyone who posts a useful answer because that attracts more lazy pupils and students.

Wow, another SO bullshitting post without a link? I wonder if we're in thousands yet with such posts.

I found it hard to believe tbh, I've never seen a toxic post being tolerated on SE, I want to see the link.
