Git documentation says you how to use git without saying you what's git

A book that teachs you how to understand the documentation that teaches you git?
Why not just teach you git?

Git documentation is another piece of crap. Really deep and complete, but never well defined for reading, using and understanding. No one looks for the git docs because they get lost and then they go find any kind of book like this. It makes me feel stupid, really.
