I really want to dive deeper in other languages. But everytime I see something with a not c-like syntax i can't muster the resolve to dive in.

Any advice to overcome that?

try to find a need for it first,

eg i wan't to fond on tcl/tk but i had to learn it back int he day because the only good IRC bot i could find was written in it.
14 yrs later, I'm still not fond of tcl/tk but at least i know it/learned it.

Need is: some awesome stuff i really want to use is written in python. I don't know python and i'm disgusted by the syntax every time i look at it. I don't bear a grudge or think the language is bad, it's like something to eat thats just not your taste but still wanting to eat it because it's healthy
