I'm getting laid off for a month.

Any tech related suggestions of what I should do in my excess free time? Got a book (Clean Code) I want to read. Some side projects I might tinker around with. But other than that no concrete ideas.

    *for* a month? Are you getting laid off temporarily?

    @rutee07 Where is this table you mentioned...lol

    @M3m35terJ05h Yes temporarily. Should have said furloughed for a month.

    A month is the perfect time frame for playing a proper session of Factorio.

    @Oktokolo If I start again I'll never finish. Waiting for 1.0 before my next playthrough. ;)

    @arcsector I started adding LSP support to Notepad++ but gave up.

    @BobbyTables its a helluva protocol

    @arcsector Yes it's a huge pain because there are different versions, not enough documentation, etc. It was partially working at one point but just so frustrating.

    Factories in Factorio are like code anyway: They don't get finished. They get abandoned for a fresh map with more or other mods or starting parameters.

    Waiting for 1.0 is the perfect time for experimenting a bit. How about spicing up your game with some Rampant or tasting one of the big overhauls. Can also counter the social distancing with one of Redmew's scenarios running on some of the beefy multiplayer servers.
    Also: 1.0 will not bring any new features. It is strictly about polishing only. So your 0.18 map probably will most likely keep working in 1.0.
