@jirehstudios well seeing as I machined the stand parts using a precision metalworkers lathe; yes.

Means that the points of the rear pegs sit exactly in the centre of the feet of my laptop, giving the best possible heat dissipation from the bottom of the chassis.

Additionally, the angle of the laptop was calculated properly so that it would be comfortable to type on, whilst not restricting airflow in a way that would cause the machine to simply sit on a cushion of warm air and negate the cooling factor.

But sure, yeah, you could do that without mechanical engineering knowledge.
