I always felt DST was stupid.

As stupid as believing clocks are really just piggy banks for time.

Don't worry though Justin Timberlake is surely gonna save us all from the time-overlords in the time banks sitting on their filthy minutes and hours like they own the place.

3rd world countries havent *developed* DST !? What ? As far as assumptions go, that is one stupid assumption. DST is not needed in typically hot countries afaik.

@purist having lived in both kind of countries, I'll tell you that DST brings more problems than it solves, no matter where. Life is so much easier without it, especially when you're dealt with people on different countries who change their clocks on different dates.

It's a ridiculous concept that needs to die. So to timezones imho. Keep everywhere the same timezone, whatever it is, and just move working hours. I don't care if that means working hours change half way through the year to account for longer days, or that means midday is 4am.

To be honest abolishing it will be a shit load of work for us. Because than you will not only have to do timezone calculation but also take into account the year because DST existed till at least this year (so you still need to do DST calculation for historic dates). All time libraries need to be updated.

@hjk101 creating some confusion about time between 1908-2021 might be a small price to pay for a better time system for centuries to come. And DST countries represent only a fraction of the world so it'd still not be that big of a deal
