If your resume lists 10 jobs and you've spent 1 year or less at each job and you were not a contractor, that is not viewed as a Good Thing. I toss those resumes in the trash.

    Sometimes it is not the contractor fault (completely)

    @mundo03 that is why he stated, "and you were not a contractor". If one goes through 10 employers in one year, and it isn't contract work, then there is a problem. It means that one is either a quitter, or really poor at what they do, and got fired 10 times in a year.

    @iAmNaN also not always the employee fault, i have seen just cumture mismatches.

    Like people that excell in small companies working for big companies, people that can not work under the incompetence of a long chain of bosses and the rules that protect them (just an example, there can be more reasons)

    Specially in places where there are not a lot of work options.

    I have also seen CVs where every new job was a promotion regardless of the time spent on it.

    @iAmNaN me point being: Read the damn CV and have an interview if the skills match and ask about the work history.
