WTF IS WRONG WITH ME?! I almost deployed a website code update on a Friday.

    Did you do a "thing" and now want to be in prod to see if it's really working ? ;p

    Sometimes that's why I deploy friday

    @NoToJavaScript Close. I did a thing and wanted to validate the fix. My local env isn’t working and Staging was there to validate the fix, so I hotfixed Staging. Now I’m real tempted to just copy the change to Production but my rational brain is screaming, “NEVER ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!”

    No idea why deploying on friday is bad unless you fuck up and don't want to work on the weekend.

    @AvatarOfKaine That’s exactly what I fear. New site I’m assigned to and I know very little about its quirks.

    It's normal, don't panic. Call a developer help line. The first step is to admit it yourself.

    Friday: you can build it, you can prep it, you can have your pipeline ready for deployment, but you leave that button for Monday morning.

    The devGods are a sick and psychotic bunch when it comes to fridays, some times they'll let it go, and some times you'll regret your life choices 😢

    @stackodev isn't that's how it's supposed to be?

    Nothing's wrong because you tested in a clone environnement

    @Lyniven I looked again and Staging was not synced with Production. Gotta figure out why and fix that before pushing live.
