Then use Eclipse and you'll come back to IntelliJ

Well I don't think you can compare it to android studio but I don't like intellij products nope

Would love to return to Eclipse....
Paying for IntelliJ does not make any sens...
I spend two hour yesterday because I copy dependency in my pom.xml file, and it was not able to resolve the dependency. Compilation is fine...
I had to put the same dependency in another module, modify the iml file manually and then it was OK.
This morning, it does the same, but.... I put the dependency in the second module to make it available in the first one. Modify the iml file manually ut save it after having remove the dependency in the second.
The dependency is still missing.

So paying for an IDE that should facilitate the work.... and loosing hours just for a copy / paste...

Really I think IntelliJ is not for me.

@Ejouvin it's not for everyone, but ever tried community edition? Free as in beer.

No way I give a try even for evaluation ;)
Just use it because it is the standard in my current team. But, I may try to use other IDE anyway.

But in any case, I will never recommand IntelliJ.

Compared with Visual Studio and VSCode for UI.

IntelliJ with Gradle is like coding with stone tools, it works but is tedious. An upgrade of IntelliJ can set you back days in development time as you slowly tease out why it now won't build.

Even switching between git branches will screw things up without telling the f'n environment to reload the gradle project and then refresh dependencies, it should f'n do that anyway!!!

I have to agree with the original post.. Intellij is HORRIBLE.. 1/2 the time I'm wondering if my code even got saved, the other half I'm constantly trying to reconfigure shortcuts because it doesnt seem to remember them once I exit and return..

I finally got fed up and uninstalled the crap.
