I can't tell if I'm in majority or minority on hating vim. I just use nano for CLI editing and some better GUI editor with, well, GUI.

Opinions? Reasons?

I use nano on SSH, xed locally and VS Code for coding

Every program has its advantages and disadvantages. Maybe vim it's hard to grasp because you have a bunch of "commands" but once you get them, you'll miss it's features everywhere. But I think many of its "commands" actually make sense. For example typing dit Deletes what is Inside the Tag you're in. Just try it. :)
