Motherfucking WordPress coupled with motherfucking sales people.

If you promise the client something, please fucking relay it via the correct process (i.e the fucking ticketing system that took me a month to write for the company - it's seriously just a click away on your desktop.). "I told your boss" is not a fucking apt excuse.

My boss forgets, and well, doesn't give a fuck about procedure either.

Now you phone my boss and he phones me, on a fucking Sunday evening, telling me that the client was promised a website by tomorrow morning at 10AM. You tell me this at fucking 9PM.

Why didn't you tell me earlier? How the fuck am I supposed to shit out something I would be proud of in a few hours? Nevermind me fucking up my sleeping routine; how the fuck?

Conversation went like this:
"xyz was promised this site by sales person fuckTwit, I need this live by Monday morning. I have sent you a few images. Make it in WordPress, client says they want a 'tangy looking theme'.

Me: it's a bit unrealistic requesting this, is there no way we can extend the time so I have time to create this?
Also, what do you mean by 'tangy'?

Boss: don't know. Make it happen. No excuses.

What the fuck is a tangy theme? When I become a webDev at the company? More importantly, fucking WordPress?!

Now I'm sitting on this shit, tired as a manatee in mating season, and using goddamn WordPress.

I have to halt my irritation, because I get severely irritated when I'm tired, I have to restrain myself from telling the involved parties tomorrow to install the FuckYourself WordPress plugin, coupled with a resignation letter.

Same sales person got me in shit a while ago, because I refused to give him access to the network to download fucking cartoons. Sales director went and moaned that his bitch (the sales person) needs this for a presentation. Yeah fucking right.
Go Snorkelling in a sewer truck you egotistic, megalomaniacal, indecent, outrageous, horrible motherfucker of a person.

Time to develop a fucking website with, oh, a company profile pamphlet.

Times like this I keep telling myself, "my time will come, my time will come".

    I'm pretty much going to take your advice here. I'll more than likely get into a nice amount of shit tomorrow morning, but fuck it. I'm doing more than enough for the company, and my weekend overtime isn't compensated, so fuck them sideways.

    They can pretty much go choke on your brutally described appendage. They fucking deserve it. Not the first time shit like this has happened.

    Thanks man.

    @Letmecode

    I'll let you know in the morning. About seven and a half hours from now.

    Come shitstorm or none, what's fair is fair (and this is outright fucking unfair).

    @ragnarr023 yes, don't do it. Don't let business fuck IT in the ass like that. I recommend you the book "the clean coder" it gives some good advice about business - IT relationship, respect and professionalism

    @krlooss how many books with that title are there? Ive heard about it multiple times, every time the book is about something else.

    First time it was about unit testing and e2e testing.
    Second time it was about patterns and anti patterns.
    And now its about business relations?

    Here would be my reply to this moron boss

    "Don't know. make it happen. no excuses."

    To the boss:
    You better damn well know or it ain't getting done later. Tonight this isn't happening, PERIOD.

    And you'll have to give your excuses to the client why you emailed me the night before and no one followed procedure nor set realistic expectations.

    You can do better. Make sure your sales guys are following procedures and using the ticket system, make sure you know what the client wants and what they mean by any words they use like tangy and make sure most importantly the time to do the job is allocated or you're just shooting yourself in the foot. You've had plenty of time to get this right and you failed. Don't expect me to bail you out. Not on a Sunday evening at 9pm. How would you like if the whole office called you on your personal time off and bugged you and your family? For once have some fucking manners.

    How did it go?

    Got into the office, and there was the boss waiting with the sales director. "you better have done the site, I don't want to hear any excuses".

    "I did not do the site, because asking me to action a miracle based on your negligence is something that I find unfair."

    "What the fuck?! You didn't do the fucking site? Are you fucking retarded, what will I tell the client?! - you know what? You go to the client, you fucking tell them!"

    I drove 45km to the client, told them their site was not done. "But we don't need the site today, we are only planning to go live with it at the end of the month."

    Drove back to office, told boss. "yeah well, you're getting a warning".

    Went to HR, HR said I am "over reacting".

    Went and sat down, contemplated life, got my laptop slapped down by the boss. Got up, told him to do the fucking website himself, told him he is a cunt - went and had some coffee.

    Resigning asap, money is tight, but fuck this shit.

    @arcadesdude

    the company that I am at honestly doesn't give two fucks about anyone besides the sales and communications dept.

    I have to cover my arse a mile high in paperwork so that I have a paper trail in case they fuck up ("I need proof"). If I fuck up, so help me god, the directors rain fire on me.

    Standing up to the cunts works, but also backfires - they do childish shit like purposefully infect their PCs with viruses, or piss and moan to the directors that I'm not attending to their problems.

    Fuck that man. Fucking kids, the lot of them.

    @Noob

    It's at times like this when you have to weigh power and responsibility.

    I'm sysAdmin amongst 10000 other things, so I have the power to fuck this company up solid - but I won't. I hate the people, the job is ok. Plus those poor servers have done nothing to hurt me, I couldn't just leave them vulnerable like that.

    But when I leave - they had better change every motherfucking password of every fucking password protected device - because I will fuck them in the ass harder than Russia fucked Napoleon.

    @ragnarr023 good job on extricating yourself from that volitile workplace. Nobody need that kind of crap boss. When people stop accepting crap they won't be able to give it. You'll find something better around better people who have and show respect to each other.

    My props to you. Something better will come round soon enough.

    @Codex404 lol. Those ones you say are 'the clean code' they are written by the same person, but 'the clean coder' is aimed at the person and a little more oriented towards attitudes, behaviors, estimations, professionalism, while the former one is the technical one.
