c3ypt1c99397yIn my experience, I have used a Nokia Lumia 520 for a long while. It's a really nice phone:
-I love the start screen.
-I love the keyboard.
-I kinda like Microsoft.
But I didn't like it because:
-The system was closed.
-You couldn't download files until they updated the system.
-The app store was filled with low quality attempts at apps or no apps at all (couldn't even get a YouTube app).
-You couldn't "root" or "jailbreak" the phone.
-It was very rarely supported by things like Chromecast.
I could go on but idk... -
Im happy i domt have to buy a new phone yet since I dont know what i would get if it would die right now.

I had to switch to Android, but still love and loved Windows phone/mobile, unfortunately because of marketing and market share the apps didn't come, but you cannot blame the os for this, also the SDK and the dev environment IMHO is the best compared to ios and android
Windows phone is great
