their reason: "you don't have enough experience with X, Y, and Z."

even though the interview was filled with questions only about A, B, and C.

what are we doing here folks

Interviews are 75% luck, you just have to keep drawing until you get one. But damn do they suck.

The interviewer decide if you join the company by how you look(discrimination is rampant) and how you fit into the legacy system development and not complain about the code very much.

I'm always very enthousiast telling about my past work experience. I think that get me jobs. Also, there's always some humor involved. Everyone who comes claims to know what you know so in the end the interview is a miss competition

@fullstackclown you should have raised that. But then again, I wouldn't want to work for a company that doesn't know what the fuck they're doing either. Dodged a bullet there, dude.

Corporate doesn't like competent Devs because they might become annoying and demand actual pay

@Tonnoman I do agree. When you end up teaching them something in the interview they may think - Holy crap this dude knows what he's talking about. If we hire him he may attempt to take charge and optimize things making our efforts look futile. We don't need that so we will hire some dumb kid who we can train and pay less.

If you end up homeless, I'll give you a sigaret every time I see you

@retoor Better give him a joint, so he can homeless and hungry both.

For smaller companies it’s common to hire people from a field no one at the company has a clue about. These companies try to innovate and the new employe is supposed to fill in that knowledge gap.

@Sid2006 soon not much easier to get than a sigarette. They want to ban tobacco in supermarkets. Totally fine by me, they raised the price of a pack of sigarettes with two euro. It's just bullying. Total bastards

@lastNick If they know anything about anything, they can come up with 15 minutes worth of questions they actually understand.
