    Who doesn't use shift

My girlfriend does this. She always runs into problems on my Linux PCs, because unlike on Windows, caps lock only affects letters there.

I... I do this. Not by choice exactly, I've just always done it like this and never managed to break the habit. My left pinky finger is quite good at the old caps lock double tap.

What's about the letters ÄÖÜ in German? There's no way around it

Give the offending person a chromebook. Best design decision on that platform is replacing the caps lock with something moderately useful.

My caps lock key only gets used if for some reason have to turn off caps lock. Even SHOUTING can be done by holding down shift.

If you read @brahn's comment and don't know what they're talking about, it's a search key on a chrombook.

Just saving some people some searching.
