You join a new team. You find that the code is horrendous. Do you

A. Run away while in probation?
B. Start complaining about it and have the others hate you?
C. Cry silently and hope things will get better?

    F. Become the code owner of a part of the application. Make it better: more usable, more testable and more maintainable.

    Stupify your coworkers with your blinding speed. When they ask how you're able to achieve such a feat, show them the true path.

    Sigh, my first task is to make this small change on this base class that the whole world inherits from ..of course the tests are for some time broken and for that reason disabled...

    Tell them what you think is wrong, why and how you can make things better. Who wants to be that person who comes into a team and starts trash talking them immediately? Sounds like an awful person to work with.
