Unless Microsoft have installed office, handed me a free license and at the same time failed to tell me, and not list office in the registry or program files then possibly.
As for not knowing what’s on my machine, I keep a good eye on what’s installed so when I have to do the occasional wipe for one reason or another I know what to put back.
Also it helps for when some random program decides to install “additional programs” -
@C0D4 sorry, I think I was being a bit rude. But yeah, that will be very surprising to me. Check if you have an app called "Get Office". Remove that and see if it works.
Also, is your laptop or computer under your work on university domain? That could be another reason behind this. -

All good, some people wouldn’t have a clue what’s on their machines.
I remember seeing the get office app the day I installed win10 but removed it back then and no this laptop is mine, not domain based, but it would make a lot more sense if it was on a domain. -

and just ran the office removal tools to see if it came up with anything and it cant find anything either.

@luper this is possible, as i said above i wouldn't be suprised if its MS shoving updates on under false like names. -

OK! all you windows haters.
This is why i totally love windows to death.
it has awesome features no other OS has...
like, installing updates to office and Skype when they are not even installed, there's not even a registry entry anywhere for them!!
now show me another OS that updates non existing software and ill be all over it!
On a serious note, does anyone know how windows would think office and Skype are installed since I can’t find a single trace of them anywhere?
