After 1,5 months of customer support as a Linux support engineer, I can honestly say:

Fuck wordpress.

    I have been out of the loop on CMS's for a long time. What would you guys recommend someone who needs a CMS that is easy to use but is not wordpress?

    *slams table* THANK YOU!

    Wonder how much chaos yet happiness and joy it would cause if somebody was to spread some ransomware specifically targeting WordPress.

    But instead of them usual bitcoins for key.
    It would point at a riddle cleverly composed of all the reasons WordPress is shit.
    To get your key, solve the riddle.

    I tell my dad that wordpress is garbage, but at this point he doesn't have the time to switch :/

    Ok like many have pointed out, is there a fucking alternative to wordpress then? because is either fucking Wordpress and its shortcomings or weebly/squarespace and other similar shit for fucking normies that are not willing to hire a web dev or some shit like that, We can shit all your want but you are not helping those here that geniouly wish an alternative, Im not saying anything because I honestly dont have any idea for them exactly

    @legionfrontier
    Ghost,
    ModX,
    I’m sure there’s more

    @legionfrontier There's tons of alternatives haha. Literally just search engine "free cms"

    @ThatDude Sad but true.

    @MateTea42 I would recommend OctoberCMS if you search a CMS targeted at developers. It features nice architecture around the Laravel Framework, nice UI and the backend features stuff like code editing, routing and database scheme editing / concept. A Plugin builder helps in bootstrapping and prototyping plugins.

    Because many designers and "It Guys" (yeah, they really studied) in the area I work in prefer Wordpress (and actually it is the only thing they understand more or less) I am also forced to administrate it.

    I wrote some Docker images that basically create a dependency tree of Wordpress base version, plugins etc. If something gets updated all images will be rebuild in the chain. The theme is hosted on github so everyone can submit pull requests. Everything that is not data is discarded everyday through a container restart or restricted in the first place.

    Lol I knew who the author was just by reading the contents on algo page 😃. Never used WordPress don't seem to miss anything

    Weird. The standard reaction from the support engineer would be "fuck the customers".

    Are you OK?
