Why does Whatsapp need an explicit permission to update the web app. What's the point?

    Why would it need to even ask for such a thing is out there for me. But what could it be for? 🤔

    I think it stores assets locally that need to be updated. So it asks for permission.

    It's actually good practice I think. I used Meteor which automatically reloads all online users' pages if you push an update. Unless you use an undocumented feature to prevent that...

    It's usually a client side javascript update and they want you to use the latest version by reloading the page.

    I'd much rather be asked to refresh than it being forced upon me. That'd be like an IDE downloading an update and then automatically restarting itself

    @Cyanide Does it not? I have my Chrome on "continue where I left off" so it wouldn't have a chance
