Kernel15214dIt's a bit annoying that they still ask me to use Edge while I am already using it.
Come on MS, that's why you get shat on. Get a hold of yourselves. -
cafecortado690913dWith Chrome you have to trust Google. With Edge you have to trust Google AND Microsoft.
-
Lensflare1420313d@dontbeevil at least Apple doesn’t advertise their browser as "Just like our competitor but trustworthy and secure"
-
Lensflare1420313d@dontbeevil you still don’t get it. In your examples Apple doesn’t advertise by directly saying that it does have some quality that the competitor doesn’t. MS does mention the competitor (Chrome) directly and pretty directly says that Edge is more secure. Which could even be a lie.
-
dontbeevil484713d@Lensflare correct
but "what happens on your iphoen, stays on your iphone" was a proven lie. (even if it wasn't addressed to a competitor) -
jestdotty266713d@dontbeevil evidently iPhone still has VPN vulnerabilities from 2020 they have refused to patch or something idk
-
dontbeevil484713d@jestdotty for example: https://arstechnica.com/security/...
But the point of the huge billboard ad was not about security...was about privacy (compared to google android, even of not explicitly mentioned) that apps on iOS don't share your data with 3rd parties, guess what? Yes some apple apps and services do -
jestdotty266712dhey no incentive to care about privacy
I have a long laundry list of things I wanna code myself so I know they aren't leaking things
but my plans are never sensible
Shows up when landing on the Chrome download page. Pathetic. Also 0 - ∞ = -∞
