    With how ignorant many cyclists are, walking in the bicycle lane might be the safest place :/

    We have a short pedestrian way right beside a parking lot on the way to the train and its quite narrow with a high fence on one side and a low on the other so you cannot step to much to the side.

    Its also forbidden to bicycle there.

    But I have bicyclists complain that we block the path regularly and one even deliberately ran so close he could kick my shopping bag to get me to step to the side.

    Thats why you have a clapped out bike which you can hear for miles. The loud screech the "brakes" make is quite useful for scaring away obstacles

    @Voxera We have the same sort of thing here. Cyclists routinely riding around on pavements, without lights, riding into people, riding on the wrong side of the road, hurling abuse at people, etc.

    They all seem to have such an entitlement complex they don't care.

    That's the reason I installed a bicycle bell, and sadly I have to use it many times.

    @ostream I am not sure, I have asked multiple times but they do mot seam to even understand the question.

    They even have to go up a 1 dm high pavement step to get to the pedestrian path and they still do it.
