I get that Mac is pretty good because it’s mostly Linux without the problems but gosh I struggle so much with the user experience… Plus, my work one is a laptop, so insanely slow.
-
@jiraTicket I think most people are able to read the signs which say “I shouldn’t be too much with this person”, but some don’t and those are the problem.
-
@electrineer To me hugs are the worst, and nowadays, handshaking your coworkers is seen as normal in France
-
@Demolishun UK, which is not my birth country.
-
It’s probably not the best practice to use Discord as a professional chat, which make me think that they are literal idiot to not have a pro version, as it’s probably the software of that kind doing the best job.

96% people working during a period of growth VS 86% during a recession doesn’t seem so crazy to me.

I’m glad she is. “We met on GitHub” is something I never want to hear in my life.

@lorentz As long as you test small simple components it’s fine, but when you try to deal with routing, or more complex feature of React it becomes unbelievably complex. And the worst part is not writing the test, but modifying it when you modify a component, to the point that I generally prefer making another component rather than editing the one in place.
-
@b2plane 90% of the time, it tests the test itself. Testing in React is broken and NextJS makes it even more broken. I 100% prefer end to end tests, which are quite broken as well, but have the benefit of actually testing something meaningful.

Refusing take homes is a rule to me
-
@vane it’s all good as long as you do it alone or with consenting people.

No stack fuck finance

I am missing a whole army, big tanks, a few planes and ammunition

Stalin was making people disappear from pictures before the AI you know…

0, the broken bulb is actually the new dark theme everyone wanted
-
@ScriptCoded we do but they are freely editable.
-
@daniel-wu it’s not even about that, doubt the app would be downvoted (and if it is it’s because of the ad banner but meh, I accept it), but all their rules are annoyingly stupid, their mails unclear and their ban threats unbearable.
-
@awesomeest No offense but you American communists are more capitalist any capitalist in Europe

…Or just create a norm of resistance that is mandatory + a mandatory 5 years warranty.

Read the IDE configuration 🤷♂️

And since I am here
Please name your generic types other things than T, U or V
And Please please please 🙏 don’t make .md for everything, use TSdoc -
Since types in Typescript, I prefer having it inferred precisely rather than relying the good will of every other devs not ending up with a too vague generic interface.

@Demolishun I mean the technology itself seems interesting but when I look at it and how it works (I mean technically, I am not interested in the business at all), it’s drown into meaningless content that makes me loose my time so I gave up
-
I wonder how those stats are made because most companies use Wordpress as their landing page while the real service is a few clicks away

I don’t understand a single shit about this
-
I do but from ChatGPT website. I don’t want it to interact with my code because then I have to review it in a too large context and ChatGPT is 90% right in its answer which mean that I have to fix the 10% remaining.
It’s very good with ffmpeg surprisingly though, but that’s very specific to my needs -
@MammaNeedHummus
The problem is not divorcing or breaking up, but going to see another guy, telling your current one that “it can continue like this” etc, no, at some point, stop. There’s morale limits to have, or otherwise we go back to the state of nature and we live like animals. I am really fed up with people who are not able to set boundaries to what’s acceptable.
So I’ll state it right here, right now, and this shall be engraved in the marble : her behaviour is not acceptable. -
@MammaNeedHummus
Don’t you know the sentence of Camus ? “a man forbids himself”
If she is poly she doesn’t get married with a guy who is not ok with that
If she is she refrains her instincts
Any other choice make this person bad, unable to commit to her own choices
Any speech excusing this behaviour makes the world bad, awful to live in. -

@tosensei yet at least one engineer moved the ticket from “todo” to “doing”
