OH NOOOOSSSS! The next pandemic! H5N1 is gonna get you!
Personally, I don't give a cluck. Tired of bullshit to scare and control everyone.6 -
Everyone's gangsta until common text shaping engine allows Wasm in font files.

I am witnessing Einsteins theory of relativity first hand, I’m amazed. The closer I get to Microsoft products, the slower my velocity becomes. At 9 PM, I have tried to connect a MS SQL Server to an ERP System for 30 minutes. After this piece of shit robbed me of all my energy, I look at the clock and it’s midnight. Go die in a dumpster fire Microsoft4

I once spent a full month browsing the internet and doing fuck all. When they eventually noticed and laid down the law threatening me. I resigned. I’d already started working my self employment, just needed to cover another months salary. I fucking won that one. No cunt gets the better of me!3

I AM SO TIRED. I'm tired of this fucking shit, my marriage and relationships with my kids is great but my work is so rocky right now, nothing is stable.5

Trying to build an executable for a an embedded device. There is 135MB of space on the device. Debug build is 135MB, release build is 138MB...
I have questions and I am afraid of what the answers are. Gotta sort out my sketchy build environment tomorrow.7 -
It's nearly May. I am therefore going to start referring to apples as "tree potatoes" whenever possible.7

If you want to improve your life, but your mental health and energy levels are too low to exercise, start with hygiene.
Take showers every day, continuously lowering the water temperature. Use dental floss and tongue scraper. Brush your teeth twice a day. Wash your face every morning and every evening. Use evidence-based skincare products: adapalene, panthenol, SPF 50+ sunscreen. Keep your toes and nails tidy. Shave routinely.
According to Nadya Tolokonnikova, a prominent Russian dissident who was imprisoned, denying basic hygiene is a _very_ efficient way of breaking someone into submission that is often applied to dissidents in Russian prisons. So, doing a reverse of that should improve mental health. -
After years of back-end development there's a thing which keeps bugging me: how little "interactive" the development process can be.
When I did front-end I took for granted that the application I was developing was easy to run so I could immediately test any little change I do on code but on back-end this is rare to see: you develop with tons of external dependencies (authentications, VPNs, databases...) so getting your application up and running can be an huge hassle and testing API controllers can be slow and frustrating since I have to continuously juggle multiple development environments, manually regenerate tokens, do guesswork to find which parameters you have to use for your API request, maintain my Postman/Insomnia HTTP calls collection to prevent it from turning into an unusable spaghetti mess... lots of repetitive tasks which kills my focus and makes me struggle in getting into a decent flow.
Automated testing has lot of potential in helping with that but its hard to introduce when you're rewriting a legacy sistem and you're already exceeded your budget.
I wonder if I'll keep doing back-end once I'm done with this project.11 -

I’ve worked here 3 years and still have no idea what anyone is talking about when any other team does their sprint demo on the same product I work on.4

The biggest drawback to QObject is you cannot template a class that inherits from QObject. It is an fucking pain in the ass. I have more work arounds and boiler plate because of that crap. I end up with code that if I find in the wild I would say: "wtf is this shit?" I end up composing stuff just to make it work together without coupling too hard. I guess if it works it works. If one of you cunts ends up working on this code I will apologize right now. But I won't be sorry one bit.1

How come so many dev teams are working with blindfolds on?
We have two projects that communicate using endpoints. One of them throws a parsing error with some data. Cool, just give the calling project some debug references and attach a debugger right?
Apparently not. I haven't figured out why we can't do that, it seems like the project only works using nuget references so we never get any debug info for the other project.
Asked around how we usually solve issues like this. The answer: "idk the codegen always works, so we never solve issues like this".
What.
It "always works". Except now it doesn't. And you've never tried debugging it? Instead just working with blindfolds on trying random shit until it does?
This is far from the first time I've heard this on a team. That and "we don't need error codes, if something goes wrong we have to fix it either way". I'm losing faith in the dev world... -
I have a wet dream:
Being armed with a spiked bat in a closed room with angular team.
Either this or see them slowly die of cancer day by day and chuckle in front of their death bed eating chips and watching netflix to not get too bored meanwhile. -
Fucking Windows.
Everytime I update the system it acts like it got infected by yet another virus.
Everyone uses this shitty insult of an OS because one day Gates said "hurr durr look how fucking generous I am, y'all get my OS for free". And we got fooled big time.
Any E-mail I try to look up in Outlook that's older than a month doesn't exist, Excel converts anything I type into ISO-timestamps, and the most infuriating thing of all is that whenever something runs in an error, it just gives me a big
FUCK Something went wrong YOU
FUCK Ask your administrator if you have any questions YOU

AFAIK Gates founded Microsoft as the hero mounting against the giants of its time, IBM to be concise. Looks like Microsoft lived long enough to become the villain themselves.6 -
python devs are not devs
why do you need numpy and 30 other packages to change some lights on a keyboard
and then the kicker is that it doesn't even work, because it can't find a daemon I guess
this is so fragile
so ridiculous
every time, these math people14 -
