So ChatGPT with GPT-4 has dropped and it's only available through a paid subscription.
I hope everyone who started to become dependent on the "free" ChatGPT or started building a business on it feels pretty stupid right about now. Unless you pay up, everyone else who does pay will now have an edge over you. Congratulations for giving another monopoly into the hands of microsoft so enthusiastically.
The "open" part of OpenAI is such a joke...22 -
So i tried installing elementary on my friend's computer
I keep ending up with this error : 'in it ram fs : cannot find a medium with a live file system'
This error can be replicated on one other computer but works without the error on another one.
I'm using a UEFI boot on all of them
What I've tried :
1. Switching USB ports
2. Burning the image using Rufus, lily USB
3.secure boot on/off
4. Converted any dynamic partitions to basic
5. Converted MBR to GPT
6. Disabled Intel PTT
I've tried Ubuntu as well, same results27 -
Big Impact, Small Size: How Small Language Models Are Changing AI
While the tech giants are investing heavily in creating large language models (LLMs) that require massive computational power and financial investment, there is a growing interest in small language models (SLMs). They offer a more sustainable and accessible approach to AI, capable of operating efficiently on less powerful devices like smartphones and tablets.
Defining Small Language Models
Small language models challenge the idea that “bigger is always better” in the world of natural language processing. Unlike LLMs like GPT-4 or Gemini Advanced consist of hundreds of billions of parameters, SLMs work with significantly fewer, they are designed to be lightweight — ranging from millions to a few billion parameters.

How many standard drinks (or alcohol) is 4 CL of gin?
In most countries, a standard drink or alcoholic beverage is commonly defined as containing approximately 14 grams (0.6 ounces) of pure alcohol. This amount of alcohol is found in various quantities of different types of alcoholic beverages.
A typical shot of distilled spirits, like gin, is often around 1.5 ounces (44.3 ml), which is roughly 4 centiliters (CL). If we assume that the gin has an alcohol content of around 40% (80 proof), then the pure alcohol content in 4 CL of gin would be:
4 CL * 0.4 (alcohol content) = 1.6 CL of pure alcohol.
To convert this to standard drinks, which are typically based on 14 grams of pure alcohol, you would divide the amount of pure alcohol by the amount of alcohol in a standard drink:
1.6 CL / 14 grams = ~0.11 standard drinks.
So, approximately 4 CL of gin would contain about 0.11 standard drinks worth of alcohol. Keep in mind that alcohol content can vary between different brands and types of gin, so this is a rough estimate. It's always a good idea to refer to the label on the bottle for more accurate information.
Thanks, Chat GPT, i'm going to go ahead and drink 10 of these gin sodas and i'll only have had one standard drink!!!!

Hey guys, I've recently purchased an Asus Laptop (i3 7100U - 2.4GHz, 4gb ddr4 , 1tb HDD, 15.6 FHD,). I've swapped HDD with an SSD ( Kingston 120gb) . Everything seems great, Laptop's performance is good, pycharm runs faster etc. However, when I shutdown the laptop, it takes nearly 3-4 minutes to shutdown. Restarting laptop hardly takes 30 seconds. The only problem is shutting down. I've tried everything, resintalled OS( windows 10 home (GPT partition)) , drivers and os are up to date, updated bios but there is no change. It still takes 3-4 minutes to shutdown. Any ideas?1

I let my ML friend (great bloke, all the following shit giving is with love) use my chatgpt plus account so he could try gpt4, bc he thought “chatgpt” is “overhyped”. meanwhile I'm getting it to pump out 50 line pSQL trigger functions like it's a Tuesday. no flex its literally like ordering pancakes.
ana he logs in proceeds to get frustrated with it and says it's shit. somehow he managed to select gpt 3.5 instead of 4.
it took me showing him THIS USELESS example that basically has almost nothing to do with gpt 3.5->4 jump (plus get access to a sandbox, cool) for him to realize that wow maybe just maybe this ain't a major version bump
